In fact, I’m the most humble person on earth. Nobody is as humble as me. If there was a humble olympics, they’d just give me the all the gold metals.
Yes, I realize that this is COMPLETELY ridiculous. But unfortunately, this is the paradox that so many of us live. We say we are one thing, then behave in a completely different manner.
We claim to be:
- Humble
- Loving
- Caring
- Compassionate
But then we:
- Brag about our stuff
- Raise our voices
- Condemn our enemies
- Ignore the pictures of famine and disease on TV
Which one is it? Just saying that you are a certain way doesn’t make it true. If you truly value something, don’t just say it.
Be it.
Reputations built on words are quick to come crashing down once you reveal your true self through actions. This is evident everywhere in our celebrity-obsessed culture.
I’m sure that right now, you could go to tmz.com and find a story about a celebrity that was respected and looked up to by millions doing something immoral, illegal, or both. Their actions are not in harmony with the person that they claim to be.
However, reputations built on actions are impenetrable by words. If someone had accused Mother Theresa of some outrageous act, would anyone have believed them?
What you do > what you say.
